Catheal Weiser, January 5

Catheal Weiser will talk about a vintage project that she completed many years ago with aluminum casting, an interesting process which requires special equipment, a sand bed and special forge.
Catheal says "I completed the project at Mansfield University under the instruction of Tom Loomis when I returned to school to complete my teaching degree."
I am a retired Art teacher living in Loyalsock, currently working in stained glass. My stained glass pieces vary from small ornaments to large private commissions. The subjects that inspire me are nature and design. Often, I like to repurpose glass and build my own designs as opposed to using commercially offered patterns."

Below are two examples of stained glass that Mickey Mapstone commissioned for her home.
Below is Catheal demonstrating Vaporization at the Bald Eagle Art League's January 5 meeting at the Taber Museum.

Ron Beach, February 2
Ron Beach is a semi-retired wildlife artist and wildlife researcher
for citizen science projects.
During the past 40 years he has produced numerous paintings of
wildlife in nature. Many of his paintings have been published in to
limited edition art prints. His art has graced the covers of magazines,
calendars and greeting cards. Ron was twice selected "Artist of the
Year" by Ducks Unlimited, and his art was selected as a "Sponsor
Print" for the Ruffed Grouse Society. Many of his limited editions are
sold out and on the secondary market. He has designed many
collector's patches for several organizations. Ron's work has raised
thousands of dollars for many conservations and non- profit
organizations. His paintings are known for their thoughtful composition.
richly detailed landscapes, and accurately portrayed wildlife. Whether
you're a collector of wildlife art or just an admirer of nature, there is
something in his paintings that capture a little part of each of us.

"I'll be discussing why I paint with acrylics, the materials & subjects that I choose.
Also, the pros and cons of art prints. We will talk about juried art shows and what
is one's interpretation of fine art." Ron Beach
Chris Ring, March 2, 7pm
Our Very Special Guest for March: Chris Ring
Chris has been a commercial illustrator for over 25 years.  He got his start in comics writing and illustrating the "CarbonKnight" mini series at Lunar Studios. He has worked on many projects for PMK's Imagination, including Edgar Allan Poe's "Nevermore" and "The Perfect Victim".
He has illustrated two Star Wars card series and numerous independent comics for a variety of Publishers.  Chris got his start in children's books illustrating "THe Scariest Creature" which led to his current series, "Seamus (the Famous)".  In "Seamus" Chris has combined the fast paced comedic timing sequential art with the charm and wonder of children's books. He has two  "Seamus" graphic novels out: "Seamus (the Famous)", "The Treasure of Gunnar Forkbeard" and "Seamus (the Famous) - The Eternity Run".

Below are some examples of Chris Ring's work.
Deb Moffitt, April 6, 7pm
Our Very Special Guest for April 6

Deb Moffitt won 2nd Place at this years BEAL and Clinton County Combo Show at the Taber Museum.
I am a Maryland native, growing up near the scenic creeks of eastern Baltimore County. I enjoy capturing the variety of landscapes across my home state, from the Bay marshes and marinas to the rugged landscapes of the Allegany Mountains, from the woodlands and historic mill towns near my current residence to the lively urban centers of the mid-Atlantic region. I am a self-taught plein air painter, participating in a variety of juried shows and winning several awards in local and regional competitions. My intent is to capture the essence of the place and the moment, whether it be an atmosphere of serenity, nostalgia, history, or majesty, whether an intimate scene or a grand vista. The interplay of light and shadow over forms captures my attention and imagination, and my hope is to communicate that vision and what it means to me through the joy of painting.

Paul Bozzo, Thursday, May 4, 7pm
The Merging of 2 Art Forms

I'm enjoying the moods and color combinations that I can create. My paintings are somewhat organic in nature and seem well suited to be “married” with my images of the natural world. I've found that I can improve compositions by allowing the top image to hide some of the 'unsuitable' details in the bottom image. I have a large catalogue of paintings using many color schemes. I strive to create new colors when combining painting photographs with landscape photographs. I frame these composite images the same way I frame my paintings. No glass is involved. The photographic print is mounted on the same material I use for my paintings (Masonite) and is protected by 5 coats of varnish.
